Raymond Levantard, a visual artist from Mauritius since 2015, merges his diverse heritage into stimulating creations. His exploration of chaos and order is rooted in his mixed heritage, which spans from France to India, through Madagascar and Réunion Island. Immersed in the social realities during his travels to his ancestral lands, he observes cultural diversity with a keen eye on human connections. His first solo exhibition, “Obscurantisme,” at Galerie Imaaya in 2019 marked a significant milestone in his career, following earlier group exhibitions. Raymond’s collaboration with Opus Art Réunion led to presentations on Réunion Island and at the Affordable Art Fair in Brussels. Drawing inspiration from his work as a freelance draftsman for interior design agencies, he integrates design principles into his art. Raymond embraces urban art, contributing to vibrant murals during festivals and commissioned projects, further deepening his engagement with diverse audiences. Through experimentation, he has perfected a distinct style, inviting viewers to question imposed forms and explore the interaction of structures. Since 2023, his active collaboration with SH Fine Art has strengthened his presence, particularly highlighted during the Graphi(k) exhibition. This involvement underscores his growing influence in the local art scene, complementing his ongoing participation in group exhibitions and exclusive auctions.
